Sardari (2021)

Documentary short (3 min)

The Sikh turban is not just an article of clothing or faith, each layer represents a moment in Sikh and Punjabi history. With each generation the Sikhs pass on not only the art of tying of a turban, but also the importance of upholding the values of being a Sikh; honour, selflessness and courage. This short visual documentary is an expression of the regal nature of the turban. The love and respect the Sikhs have for their turbans shown through a modern lens. Acknowledging the recent and ongoing farmer's protest in India, the farmers have shown the same spirit of Sardari while facing many hardships. Their courage, selflessness, honour and determination is to be saluted.
